Anji Postecoglou, the manager of South Korean soccer icon Son Heung-min’s club Tottenham Hotspur, has won his third consecutive English Premier League (EPL) Manager of the Month award. The EPL’s governing body announced on its website on Tuesday (July 10) that Pochettino has been named manager of the month for October. This marks the third consecutive time that Postecoglou has been recognized as the EPL’s top manager after winning the award in August and September, when the 2023-2024 season kicked off .Postecoglou is the first manager to win the award three times in a row in his first month in charge, the secretariat said .In the history of the EPL, which began in 1992, only four managers have won three consecutive Manager of the Month awards, including former Chelsea manager Antonio Conte, Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola and Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp.
Tottenham defeated Luton Town 1-0 in July and Fulham 2-0 on Sept. 24, followed by a 2-1 win at Crystal Palace on Sept. 28.Captain Son Heung-min led the way for Spurs with two goals .If Postecoglou is named the EPL’s top manager in November, he will join Guardiola as the four-time winner of the award for the 2017-2018 season. However, his chances of winning the award are not high as he has already lost his first game of November, a 1-4 defeat to Chelsea on November 7.Postecoglou was in charge of Scottish giants Celtic until last season, when he switched to Tottenham this summer .He emphasizes an “attacking football” style of play, where the defense sits high up the field, most players are involved in the attack, and the team is on the attack all game .Under Postecoglou, Spurs (26 points) have won eight games, drawn two and lost one, and sit in second 토토 place behind Manchester City (27 points).
