Archery’s Lim Im-hyun, Kim Woo-jin sweep Paris Olympic ranking rounds…
The Korean archery teams competing at the Paris Olympics swept the top spots in both the men’s and women’s individual and team ranking rounds.
The South Korean men’s and women’s archery teams topped the individual and team ranking rounds of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games on Friday (local time) at the Les Invalides in Paris, France, as a preliminary event before the opening ceremony.
Lim took first place in the women’s archery ranking round with a score of 694 points in a field of 64 archers.
This is a world and Olympic record, surpassing the previous world record of 692 set by Kang Chae-young in 2019 at the World Championships qualification.
Lim won three titles at the Hangzhou Games last year, including the women’s individual, team and mixed team titles.
After finishing the ranking round in first place, Lim will face Alondra Rivera (Puerto Rico), who finished last in the 64-player field.
The women’s team finished first in the team competition with a new Olympic record of 2,046 points, with Lim’s 694 points added to runner-up Nam Soo-hyun’s 688 and 13th-ranked Jeon Hoon-young’s 664.
In the men’s ranking round, Kim Woo-jin topped the leaderboard with 686 points. He was joined by Kim Jeduk in second place with 682 and Lee Woo-seok in fifth with 681, giving the men’s team a total of 2049 points.
In line with the Korean Archery Federation’s policy of awarding the best male and female performers from the ranking rounds to the mixed event, Im and Kim will now attempt to win the triple Olympic title in the individual, team and mixed events.
In today’s ranking round, Korea Archery swept the No. 1 seeds in all five events – men’s and women’s individual, men’s and women’s team, and mixed.
The individual tournament will be held from Aug. 30 to Aug. 1, with the mixed event on Aug. 2 and the women’s and men’s individual events on Aug. 3 and 4, respectively. 안전한 파워볼사이트
