Yonsei’s Kang Ji-hoon to sit out Myeongji University match with ankle injury
Yonsei guard Kang Ji-hoon (202 cm, C) will not play against Myongji.
Yonsei University, which leads the 2024 KUSF College Basketball U-League with nine wins, wraps up its first semester schedule with a home game against Myongji University on Saturday.
Yonsei has met Myongji 20 times in the U-League, winning all of them. The margin of victory is 25.6 points (88.8-63.2).
The Lions have won 18 of those games by double-digit margins, including a hard-fought 80-78 victory at home on Sept. 5, 2012, and 카지노 have defeated Myongji by at least 18 points since 2018.
Myongji is currently ranked 10th with a 1-8 record. While they certainly have a better record than Sangmyung University (9 losses) and Chosun University (10 losses), they are no match for Yonsei.
However, Yonsei will not be at full strength for this match.
The team will be without Kang Ji Hoon, who suffered an ankle injury with 3:27 left in the second quarter against KU on Nov. 13.
Yonsei head coach Yoon Ho-jin said in a phone call on the 25th, “He was diagnosed with a partial ankle ligament tear and was given a 2-3 week diagnosis. The swelling went down quickly, but the pain is still there. Depending on the pain, he will undergo a hospital examination and then start building his body.” “He will not be able to play against Myeongji University and will not be able to play in the MBC boat,” he said of Kang Ji-hoon’s absence.
He is expected to make his comeback at the MBC Varsity National University Basketball Tournament, which will be held from the 17th of next month. He is expected to take the court as early as the preliminaries and as late as the finals.
The matchup between Yonsei and Myongji University will take place at 5 p.m. on Nov. 26 at Yonsei University Gymnasium.
