Greenwood spotted training in Manchester…training privately with former Man Utd teammate
Mason Greenwood is back in Manchester.
“Greenwood has begun pre-season training with his former Manchester United teammates with a view to joining the club in the summer transfer window,” The Sun reported on June 6.
“Greenwood was photographed in Manchester on Friday testing his skills with his father, his agent, and former United teammate Shola Choretire,” the Sun added.
Greenwood was considered an all-time great talent. He is a powerful, reactive striker with a great shot and can use both feet to make him difficult for goalkeepers to stop. He was considered a “Manchester United treasure” because of his football intelligence at a young age. Despite being born in 2001, he has already played 129 games for United, scoring 35 goals and providing 12 assists.
But in January of last year, a shocking revelation was made. “Man United’s Greenwood has been arrested on suspicion of rape and assault,” the BBC reported. Here’s what happened. In January, Greenwood’s girlfriend, Harriet Robinson, released a series of photos and audio recordings on her personal social media accounts.
The photos were shocking. “To everyone who wants to know what Greenwood really did to me,” Roberson wrote, along with a photo of her face covered in blood and body parts clearly marked with bruises. An audio file was also released. Manchester police immediately launched an investigation and arrested him on suspicion of rape and assault.
The charges were later dropped. In February, Sam Pilger of global media outlet Forbes reported that “all charges against Mr. Greenwood have been dropped. The case is over,” meaning that key witnesses had reportedly 먹튀검증 withdrawn from the trial. This means that Greenwood will no longer face any legal issues in the case.
However, Greenwood never played again at Old Trafford. Getafe snapped him up, and Greenwood took on a new challenge, wearing the number 12 shirt. Despite his lack of game time, Greenwood quickly improved his form.
In 34 appearances across all competitions this season, Greenwood scored 10 goals and provided six assists. He was such an integral part of the team that he was ranked as the second-best player on Futbol.com this season.
He returned to United when his loan expired. However, the Red Devils plan to sell Greenwood to raise cash. United have set a price tag of £40 million. Getafe want to sign Greenwood, but they can’t afford the high price tag.
Greenwood has been linked with a number of clubs. Napoli, Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, Juventus, and Marseille have been mentioned, among others. It will be interesting to see which team he joins ahead of the new season.
