BIGGAL Jeon Jeon-Ye-Jeon and Kim Yeri head to World Championships…
The national breaking team is heading to the World Championships with the goal of securing a ticket to next year’s Paris Olympics.
The Korea Dance Sports Federation (KDF) announced on March 18 that b-girls Jeon Jeon-ye (Freshbella) and Kim Ye-ri (Yell) and b-boy Sang Bi-goon Park Min-hyuk (Zooty Zoot) will compete at the 2023 World Breaking Championships in Leuven, Belgium, on March 23-24 (local time).
B-boy Kim Heon-woo (Wing), who was originally named on the roster, has decided to focus on the Asian Games.
The breaking team will be looking to punch their ticket to the Paris Olympics at this event.
The winner of the World Championships will go directly to the Paris Olympics.
The five athletes who finish second through sixth will qualify for the Olympic Qualifier Series (OQS), a qualifying event for the Paris Olympics.
However, as the World Championships are a direct ticket to the Olympics, no Olympic qualifying points (ranking points) will be awarded.
For the Korean team, Kim Heon-woo won the 2023 WDSF Asia Breaking Championships in Hangzhou, China, in July to qualify for the OQS.
The breaking team will depart the country on July 20 through Incheon International Airport.
The 16 direct tickets to next year’s Olympic Games in Paris will be awarded to one World Championship winner and five continental championship winners. In Asia, the winner of the Hangzhou Asian Games will go directly to the Olympics.
The remaining 10 tickets will be distributed through the Olympic Qualification System (OQS). 안전놀이터
