The Doosan Bears defeated the Hanwha Eagles for their second straight win. Hanwha snapped a six-game losing streak.
Doosan won 10-5 against Hanwha in the 2024 Shinhan SOL Bank KBO League at Hanwha Life Eagles Park in Daejeon on Saturday. The victory was Doosan’s second straight, improving their record to 14-16 on the season and closing the gap on the sixth-place Kiwoom Heroes. Hanwha, meanwhile, dropped its sixth straight game to fall to 11-17.

Doosan had a chance in the top of the first inning against Hwang Jun-seo. Jung Soo-bin singled to left and Heo Kyung-min followed with a single, but Yang Ji and Kim Jae-hwan walked back-to-back to put runners on first and second. However, they were unable to capitalize as Kang Seung-ho flied out to right field on a full count.
Hanwha also missed their chances. In the bottom of the first, Choi In-ho walked and Peraza singled to left to put runners on first and second, but Noh Si-hwan struck out on three pitches. Chae Eun-sung’s grounder to first base advanced the runners to second and third, but Ahn Chi-hong grounded out to shortstop to end the inning.
In the top of the second inning, Doosan took the lead with a home run. Leadoff hitter Yang Seok-hwan watched one pitch from Hwang Jun-seo and then hit a two-pitch 143-kilometer/h fastball over the left-field fence for a solo home run. It was Yang’s fourth home run of the season.
After taking the lead with a home run by Yang Seok-hwan, Doosan added three more runs in the top of the third inning. Heo Kyung-min led off with an infield single and stole second on a throwing error by the pitcher, and after back-to-back singles by Yang Ji-ji and Kim Jae-hwan, Kang Seung-ho’s sacrifice fly scored Heo. Yang’s infield single brought home Yang Ji-ji, and Ramos followed with a sacrifice fly to bring in Kim Jae-hwan to extend the lead to 4-0.
In the top of the fourth inning, Hanwha answered with a home run. Two batters later, with Heo Kyung-min singled up the middle and the bases loaded, Yang Ji took a 1-1 pitch, a low, 125-kilometer/h fastball from Hwang Jun-seo, over the left-center field fence for a two-run blast. It was Yang’s fourth home run of the season and extended the lead to 6-0.
Hanwha got one run back in the bottom of the fourth inning. With the bases loaded and no outs, Chae Eun-sung took a 1-1 pitch, a 137-kilometer (km/h) slider from Kim Yoo-sung, over the left-field fence. It was Chae’s first hit in nine at-bats and her first home 바카라사이트 run in 19 games.
However, Doosan got two runs back in the top of the fifth. After back-to-back singles by Ramos and Kim Ki-yeon against Han Seung-hyuk, a throwing error put runners on second and third, and Park Jun-young’s RBI single brought both runners home. In the bottom of the seventh, Hanwha scored three runs against reliever Lee Young-ha. Pinch-hitter Lee Do-yoon blasted a triple, Jung Eun-won scored on a ground ball, and after Choi In-ho singled to right, Peraza hit a two-run homer to make it 5-10. Peraza then hit his eighth home run of the season, a 151km/h fastball from Lee Young-ha. The score remained 5-10, but neither team scored any more runs after that, and Doosan held on for the win.
In his first career start, Kim Yoo-seong allowed two runs on three hits (one homer) and two walks in five innings, striking out four and walking two, and received solid offensive support to pick up the win. It was the 167th win in KBO history and the 24th start for Doosan. Kim Taek-yeon pitched one scoreless inning, Lee Young-ha gave up three runs in one inning, and Choi Ji-kang and Lee Byung-heon pitched one scoreless inning.
In a batting lineup that pounded out 13 hits and 10 runs, Yang Seok-hwan went 3-for-3 with a home run and two RBIs, Yang Ji-hyun was the standout with a two-run shot, Jung Soo-bin, Heo Kyung-min, and Ramos all had multi-hit games, and Park Joon-young also had two RBIs.
Hanwha, on the other hand, had a tough outing, as starter Hwang Jun-seo struggled with five walks and six hits (two home runs) in 3⅔ innings, followed by Han Seung-hyeok with two runs (one earned) in 1⅓ innings and Kim Bum-soo with two runs in 1⅔ innings. Kim Kyu-yeon and Lee Min-woo pitched 1⅓ and 1 scoreless innings, respectively. The offense had nine hits, including home runs by Chae Eun-sung and Peraza, but it was not enough to prevent the loss.
