Rookie Jang Yu-bin, who is in her second year on the Korea Professional Golf (KPGA) tour, is growing rapidly as she begins her professional career.

Jang Yu-bin took the lead with 6 birdies and 1 bogey in the first round of the GS Caltex Maekyung Open golf tournament held at Namseoul Country Club (par 71) in Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi-do on the 2nd with 5 under par 66 strokes.

Jang Yu-bin, who participated in the Hangzhou Asian Games as a member of the national team last year and won a gold medal in the team event, turned pro in the fall and joined the KPGA tour.

Jang Yu-bin, who won the championship trophy as an amateur at the KPGA Tour Gunsan CC Open in August last year, participated in three competitions this year and continued her good performance with two top 10 finishes and a tie for 23rd place once.

Jang Yu-bin said, “Last year, I was very nervous when I entered the competition,” and added, “I think I have grown to a higher level this year, perhaps because of the accumulated experience.”

Jang Yu-bin, who is participating in the Maekyung Open for the fourth time this year, tied for 8th place last year.

Jang Yu-bin, who started in the morning group in the first round this year, recorded an average drive shot distance of 320 yards, and hit 340 yards in the 16th hole (par 4).

After playing the first round, Jang Yu-bin said, “Today, my tee shot went straight and far and I got a good result,” but added, “The Namseoul course does not have an advantage for long hitters. You have to play with an emphasis on accuracy.”

Jang Yu-bin said, “I played in the champion group on the last day of last year’s competition, and I can’t forget the cheers from the gallery. I really want to enter the champion group on the last day this year as well.” 섯다
